Summertime is upon us, and I’ve been to the beach at least two times this month. I used to think winter was my favorite time of the year, but summer has been a major contender for the number one spot with its salty air, warm nights, and backyard barbecues.
All month, AdoreMe has been inspiring bloggers with their swimwear collection to share their favorite beach essentials. I may be late to the game, but summer isn't over yet. Here are my top three #BeachDayMusts.

1. A good book
There’s nothing like lying on a towel and thumbing through a good book. I’m currently working my way through A Catcher In the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Tim lent it to me a month ago when I was scouring his house for something to do, and I’m surprised I haven’t read it before.
I enjoy beach books as well, but I find that it would be easier to sit down and absorb classical novels in beautiful settings such as these.

2. A beautiful cover-up
I hate struggling with three different pieces of clothing after I come out of the water, which is why I usually pack a loose-fitting piece like this Mexican dress I bought from the Swap Meet. The embroidery is stunning and it’s comfortable enough to wear while I’m lounging out on the sand.
3. A little bit of sparkle
What girl wouldn't want to add something shiny to their ensemble? I wouldn’t wear certain types of jewelry to the beach, like ones made with materials such as metal or suede. But accessories such as this bracelet are perfect, since it’s only crafted with elastic and stones and perfect to pair with any type of swimsuit.
